LandBankSearch is a search engine for public land bank listings. We collect as little personal information as the Service needs to work — this policy explains exactly what that is, how we use it, and how to remove it.
What we collect
- Email address and saved-search preferences — only if you subscribe to listing alerts. Subscriptions are double opt-in (you must click a confirmation link before we send anything).
- Standard technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested — generated automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and debugging, and retained only per our providers’ default rotation.
- Usage analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand which pages and markets people visit, in aggregate. See “Cookies” below.
That is the full list. We do not run advertising, do not sell data, and do not build individual profiles of visitors. Browsing and searching the map never requires an account.
How we use it
- to send the listing alerts you asked for, from which you can unsubscribe at any time;
- to operate, secure, and debug the Service;
- to understand aggregate usage (page views, popular markets) so we know what to build — in aggregate only, never to identify individuals.
We never sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing.
Service providers
Your data is processed by the infrastructure the Service runs on, solely on our behalf: hosting and content delivery (Vercel), database (Supabase), transactional email delivery (Resend), and usage analytics (Google Analytics). Each receives only what its function requires — for example, Resend sees your email address in order to deliver your alerts.
Cookies and local storage
The Service itself uses only what is strictly necessary to function (for example, remembering client state in your browser’s local storage). Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish visitors and measure page views; we use it with IP-level data limited to aggregate reporting, and you can block it with any standard content blocker or Google’s opt-out browser add-on without affecting the Service. We set no advertising cookies.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your email address and saved search for as long as your subscription is active. Every alert email contains a one-click unsubscribe link that removes you from future sends. To have your data deleted entirely, email jpnayt@gmail.com and we will remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold so little — at most an email address and a saved search — the fastest path for any of these is to email us and we will handle it directly.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we will delete the address.
Property data is public information
The property listings on the Service are public records published by land banks and other public agencies. They describe properties, not private individuals, and are not “personal information” we collect from you.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes to how we handle subscriber data will also be announced to subscribers by email.
